The tomb of Baudelaire

Disclosed by the buried temple some sepulchral
Sewer’s mouth drooling sludge and rubies
Abominably, some idol Anubis
All of his snout singed as a wild barking

Or that the recent gas twisted the wick dipper
Wiping one knows it has undergone opprobriums
He lights a haggard immortal pubis the flight
Of which according to the lamppost spends the night away from home

What dried leaves in the nightless cities
A votive may bless it, seat herself
Against the marble in vain to Baudelaire

Under the veil that girds her absent with shivers
That the Shadow a guardian poison
Always to breathe if we die of it.
