Enchanted Entrance by Fred T. Larson

A version of this picture of a stairway in New Orleans appears in Fred's Sketching in New Orleans... where he wrote "This morning George showed me the new discovery before I had a chance to find it.  I have passed this place a dozen times but the street entrance was always closed.  And when you do open the door it hits the hammer of a bell which sounds loud enough to tell the lady in the room above that some one has walked into the court yard.  Sure enough, she was there, and George said, 'Good morning.  A visitor from Chicago.'  'Very well, you are welcome,' she replied.  I made a quick sketch and two exposures.  Am going back this afternoon for a sketch of the spiral stairway."
